Rupert Wates

Audiences everywhere (and we do mean everywhere!) respond to Rupert Wates' brand of melodic art/folk. "This is one gifted S.O.B., throwing off song after affecting song with what appears to be complete ease... If you're not hip to this guy, you're missing a lot," says Mark Tucker of FAME.

Rupert has been a full-time songwriter since 1992 when he signed an exclusive deal with Eaton Music Publishing. He has written songs in all kinds of styles for all kinds of artists. As a performer, he plays between 120 and 150 live shows a year, and has performed in every state in America to critical acclaim. Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange considers him "a prime figure in American music who's just biding his time until he's discovered."

His five solo discs have gained outstanding reviews and continue to be aired on college and mainstream radio all over the world. Between 2007 and 2011, Rupert won over 25 songwriting awards. Ryan Moore of AMP The Magazine wrote that he is "more compelling, more sympathetic and more emotionally accessible than many other modern performers."

In 2010, Rupert released ‘Joe's Café,' an album of 15 original songs based on true stories of ordinary American people. Through them, the story of America itself is traced: through two world wars, the Dust Bowl depression, Vietnam and the struggle for Civil Rights, all the way to the present day. The album's warm sound evokes the welcoming atmosphere of an all-night café, where friends gather to share their stories.

Tickets are $15 with a pre-concert dinner available for $20. Reservations are required for dinner. Contact us at (802)465-4071 or via e-mail. Venue is BYOB.
