Sarah Blacker

Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30

Brandon Music is again proud to present Sarah Blacker, the 2013 New England Music Awards ‘Female Performer of the Year'.

Sarah's heart-felt version of songwriting has been coined “Sundress rock”, and she was said to be “one of the brighter artists to grab our attention recently”, by national Roots publication, No Depression. The Boston Herald's Jed Gottlieb called her “Boston's delightful folk nymph”, yet he also said, “Sarah Blacker makes some of the most interesting folk music in Boston – mostly by making folk the starting point and reaching out toward rock, Americana and prog.”

Sarah is a prolific singer/songwriter currently touring behind her 3rd album, (in just three years) which has regularly been receiving airtime on local NPR station, WUMB, and Emerson's WERS.

Besides sharing the stage with artists such as 10,000 Maniacs, Rusted Root, Paula Cole, The Wood Brothers, Sara Bareilles, and Anais Mitchell, MTV has featured her songs on Jersey Shore and Friendzone.

Not only is Sarah a talented singer/songwriter, she is a business savvy, hard-working musician, who also spends eight hours a week as a Music Therapist for adults in a psychiatric hospital and with children with Asperger's. Sarah's entrancing voice, poignant and emotionally charged lyrics, and mature songwriting has this artist on pace to go nowhere but up.

Tickets are $15 with a pre-concert dinner available for $20. Reservations are required for dinner. Contact us at (802)465-4071 or via e-mail. Venue is BYOB.
